Sketching in the Holy Lands

I’m trying to document my trip to the holy lands in my sketchbook. I brought 2 sketchbooks with me. I have a small one with 60 pages where I can write notes and do quick sketches on the go. My second book is a larger, 5.5” x 8.5”, extra heavy weight mixed medium pad. I’ve also been taking photos so I can use them as a reference for later. This sketch is called Herodian. The site is currently under excavation. Herodian is Herod‘s palace that he erected on top, and inside, inside a man made mountain. I sketched this from photo references.
