Poem: Expectations

Expectations

Expectations set too high

Will lead you to a long cry.

Expect you must do it all,

Quench your anguish, when you fall.

Elation may to you come

When your day begins to hum.

So keep expectations low,

Then only up will you go.

June Nash

I once heard that true optimists are really pessimists.  People who expect nothing, thrilled at the smallest wins, feel that they are truly lucky.
