Urban Sketching at the SCS Farmer’s Market

It was a beautiful morning at the Farmer’s Market in St Clair Shores. After a few warm up sketches, I settled on the petting zoo for my final watercolor on 9 x 12 inch watercolor paper.

I set up my chair on the far corner of the pen, where I thought I’d be out of the way of the crowds. These goats, and a few sheep, decided I was a curiosity. Goats come, people follow. The kids feed the kids and I have my choice of subjects as children, adults and animals move about in front of me.
