On an ivory 5 x7 Greeting card
I sent this card to my good friend Betty and her husband Russ. I used two separate photos for inspiration. I like the way it appears that Russ is looking adoringly at his wife.

Panera Bread on a Sunday morning is a great place to get some practice sketching random people. I am going to go to various public places and capture a collection people. The object is to not only to get better at portraying their gestures or moods, but to tell a story. The above sketch is only one paragraph of the story I aim to tell. A collection of paragraphic sketches will hopefully start to form a story.
I’ve started painting from live models on Thursdays. This week’s model looks beautifully exotic! She will be coming back next week for a second sitting, giving me the opportunity to finish it up. I don’t know if I’ll make the time to work on the painting at my home studio before then. I like where it is going.
I started this painting from a live model last Thursday. I ran out of time, so I worked on him at home over the last couple of days, referencing photos that I took. Today it is complete.
